Senior Motorcycle Mechanic needed, responsible for complete range of workshop activities; including repairs, servicing, MOTs, diagnostics – both mechanical and electrical. Everything from engine rebuilds to fitting alarms, preparing sales bikes, evaluating purchases etc. Some workshop management and organisation of work load as well as instructing and training junior staff. Administrative duties are included to comply with the business requirements as well as those of the Japanese franchise held. Most work will be on modern machinery and using up to date diagnostics equipment.

The business holds a Kawasaki franchise with a sister shop holding Suzuki and MV Agusta. All makes of motorcycles may come through the workshops for sales preparation or repair work.

The shift pattern is an eleven day fortnight, ie every second Saturday as well as every Sunday off. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a similar position, although less experienced candidates may be considered for training.

Ideal Candidate

A proven track record in a similar position in a business with a motorcycle franchise. Managing a workshops along with junior staff. Extensive diagnostics experience with mechanical and electrical issues.

Essential

Motorcycle licence, some workshops experience in the motor industry, preferrably at a senior level. Good literacy and numeracy along with ability to complete administrative tasks as well as repair, servicing and diagnostics to a high standard. Amenable character able to earn respect from colleagues and work well as a team member.

Desirable

Extensive diagnostic and repair and servicing experience with modern motorcycle franchise. Ability to prioritise work with a good overview of the business requirements and able to cope with a significant work load.
